I know this is a stupid question - but I'm going to ask it anyway...

What are the differences in the Sport Tuned Suspension and the Non-Sport Tuned Suspension.
I'm aware of the ride and handling differences.
I am looking for mechanical differences.
Is it just in the type of shocks?

Shocks are a bit stiffer in the sport version (valving is probably the only difference). And the sway bars are thicker. Springs might be a hair shorter (1/4" maybe) IIRC the Sport ride height is lower, but only slightly.

Lmao, chrome or not doesnt have anything to do with sport tuned... :P

the LSE susp. is a wee bit lower than a regular sport about 1/4" - 1/2" nothing really noticeable though.

Our next meet I'll compare my LSE with a regular sport and we can see the differences.

The chrome adds extra weight and raises the center of gravity causing additional body roll during tight corners.

:D

:D

The chrome on these cars is on plastic and weighs next to nothing. With no more chrome than is on them, you MAY have a pound in all the additional chrome. If your LS is affected by about pound of weight, I REALLY think you need a new one... ;)

similar question...is the ride height on a stock 2nd gen higher than a stock 1st?

Not positive, but I think it's the other way around as long as you're talking gen1 sport versus gen2 sport. In fact, I think Gen1 Sport is about the same as Gen2 Base. I think I remember reading that one of the Gen2 changes was a slight redesign that allowed them to add a little extra travel to the suspension while lowering it slightly.
