Well I already have the gauge and the adapter that I need to make it work with the fuel rail, but what did everybody use to run the gauge outside to the windshield? Hose barb fittings and some hose with hose clamps?

Yes, that's where the fuel gauge would go if I didn't want to see my fuel pressure under load. But I'm trying to figure out a way to run the gauge outside the engine compartment and tape it to the outside of the windshield so I can check the pressure under load.

what, connect the guage to the schrader valve and run line through the firewall and mount in interior?

anyone done this...? the schrader valve is the bike tire looking cap on the drivers side fuel rail right. kinda in the front?

Ive heard you should never run a mechanical fuel pressure gauge to the interior for safety reasons. I have a few possible scenarios running through my head right now, all of which involve the car on fire while being sprayed with fuel

fuel pressure guage? i dunno call the guage manufacture tape it to the windshield with duck tape! get hillbilly on that ish

Not a safe way to do it. Pressurized fuel will essentially be routed into your car and if a leak develops things can get nasty real quick. If you want a in-cab fuel pressure gauge then either do the separator or just do an electric fuel pressure gauge.

sure there ya go. i dont know much about fuel guages, but i would imagine you should just buy an in cab one and follow the directions?

No no no, I don't want to run it inside the car. I just need to temporarily run it outside of the engine compartment so I can see my fuel pressure under load. Can't exactly see the pressure while you're driving if it's attached to where the schrader valve goes lol.

I know people have done it by adding on some hose and running it up to the windshield, I'm just wondering what type of fittings and hose they used to do this.

NPT fittings and a few hose barb fittings with some fuel injection hose and a fw clamps. Pretty easy deal overall. The two threads you have to match are the schrader valve on the rail and the fuel pressure gauge. Go to your local hardware store to the plumbing section and you will find the fittings you need there if the selection is good. Then go to the local auto parts store for fuel injection hose and clamps. About $15 later and you are good to go.

mine has a long enough hose and i tape it to the windshield (outside). how long is the hose you got? most test gauges come with a foot or two

I just bought a gauge off summit so it didn't come with any hose. But the acton one that I had before this didn't have a long enough hose either.

That's what I thought I needed, the reason I asked is because none of the hardware stores here carry the fittings I need, so I'm going to have to order off the internet.

But for the time being, I just hooked up the gauge to the schrader valve, and I'm only getting 25 psi at idle. I've been suspecting my fuel pump is weak for a while, does this mean that it is indeed weak?
