Thinking of selling my LS. Just looking for suggestions of what I should ask for it.

2000-LS-V6 manual, black, sport package, 60000 miles, new battery, good tires, perfect shape inside and out

I would appreciate any numbers

I'll give you $50 for it, but only if you'll take a third-party, post-dated, out-of-state check signed with an X. ;)

Your best bet for pricing would be to use KBB or Edmunds. Also, take a look at AutoTrader ( http://www.autotrader.com/ ) to see what sellers are asking (there aren't very many manual-trannied LSes listed).

BTW, it looks like they're asking $9K-$10K for similar cars.

ah yes, i forgot to mention KBB, I always do KBB before buying a car, or selling one of mines, Dealers tend to jip you off for less when selling your car to them. Yell at them, KBB says! ... lol

KBB it, then around that price range, play with the price

no way you'll get 12k for it. Anything over 10K would be a miracle!!

This is the numbers from NADA. I didn't know if you had the roof etc but I included roof and stereo and sport package, which you have being a manual trans. You can calculate from the table I have posted here.

Formatting got messed up I thought it was sorted out but once it was posted it went right back the three numbers at the bottom atre your total with options for low retail to high retail prices 9725 low,11200 clean retail and 12375 for high retail

Movie Muscle has the right idea. I work for a dealership and there is not one car dealership in the United States that uses kbb. I don't know how many people walk in and say kbb says it's worth this much! All dealers go by NADA value. It used to be black book now they even got rid of the black book and go by NADA. But, I would have to say 10 grand. You will get more if you sell it to a private seller.

I went to one and they used KBB right in front of my face. this was last year, i was thinking of getting rid of my car for an 04' Altima, this thing was hot lol ..

You got lucky then. Now that I think of it carmax go's by it. But, then again all the salesman are college kids making an extra buck.

Dealerships use whichever figures are most advantageous to their cause. I've seen them use "black books" and NADA Guides and KBB (regardless of the fact that the banks and credit unions almost always use NADA Dealer guides when they evaluate cars as collateral). Also beware that the NADA Guide you get at the grocery store checkout isn't the same as the NADA guides the banks and dealers have.

If you want the best possible estimate of what your car's worth, talk to a loan officer at your local credit union (preferably one where you're a member). They'll give you the straightest dope there is on car values.
