Just bought a 2000 LS 3.0 With 80,000 miles on it. Running the 91 octane fuel, what can I expect to get for fuel mileage. Driving scenario is 50% intown and 50% open interstate? Vehicle is in very good running condition.
Highway speed and duration will have a bigger impact than engine or mileage. [as I recall] I can get 26mpg in my 2002 V8 at a steady 65mph, but it takes a few miles to offset the initial acceleration. 75mph drops it 3-4mpg. My 25-40mph town streets with traffic lights usually only get 14-17mpg
It's entirely up to your route, driving style, idle times, traffic, etc
When younger... my 04 would get 30-31 mpg on the highway at 70mph. Average in the in town driving... and it averaged 24mpg. This is a v8 sport with the 3.58 gears.
