I just noticed that my front driver side door speakers isn't working. So want to replace all of them, but I'm not sure what size aftermarket speakers to buy for the front? Since I'm replacing the front I might as well replace all the speakers. Does anyone know how many speakers are total in the gen 1 2002 LS base model and what size are they?

Thank you.

Have you tried Crutchfield? They can usually show all speaker sizes that fit your car and will tell you every speaker location the car has. One thing though, there were several different levels of audio systems on the car and they had different speaker counts. Crutchfield (if they have the LS) will list all speaker locations, but your car may not have speakers in all locations so make sure you check what you have before you order.

I thought there were a lot of responses here....

Anyway,,, 5X7/6X8...

There was almost 3 pages. I don't know what happened? I wanted to check some sites members suggest and when I looked earlier today, they were all gone. Even my response to them? Weird

FordParts.com for OEM Base Audio, less than $26 delivered to your local dealer for free, no adapter needed (obviously). I tried some aftermarket, they were crap. OEM was the best choice.

Well at least now I know I'm not crazy. I first saw I lost my post in the StR Brakes thread and thought maybe I forgot to click Submit. Then I noticed I had a lot of threads marked as Unread, despite knowing what they said. Now, in this thread, I KNOW there are missing responses

LvC was also down last night around midnight Eastern time

I'm not sure what other links there were, but I know Loud linked two amps from Sonicelectronix

Loud, in response to what you previously wrote about us talking 5ch amps, I'm pretty sure why I figured out the Kenwood Excelon X700 was $100 cheaper than the comparable non-eXc Kenwood. It looks like it's discontinued. Crutch no longer has it and Sonic didn't have it the first time I looked. Reviews date back to 2012. It seems the X800 replaces it, with 4x50w output over 4x40w with the same 1x500w sub channel. I don't know if it's worth the extra $150 though ($230 vs $380)

what the hell? multiple post just missing? sh!t, now I dont even remember what all I said... let me see if I can clift notes it...

my top choice for speakers right now...

Pioneer TS-D's

a cheaper alternative but not quite as good.

Alpine Type S

great compact, small but great sounding amp

alpine power pack

as far as the 5ch amps I was talking about... FDR got the links, the PDX-V9 is the top option, 100x4 (@ 4 or 2 ohms) + 500x1 (@ 2 ohms)

the kicker KS800.5 (the one in the link is the slightly more expensive marine version) but is 45x4 (@ 4 ohms) + 400x1 (@ 2 ohms)

the speaker harnesses you would need for EACH pair of speakers is the metra 72-5600

makes sense, it is that time of year when the old models go out and the new ones start rolling in... aint nothing wrong with an older model to save a few bucks! I still think its so odd that the specs are identical between the regular kenny version and the excelon version, normally there is at least some differences (other than twice the warranty) to justify the cost difference.

also those are just a couple.. there are many many other options out there. I can go on for days...

yeah, there were. i thought i was going freaking crazy with the missing replies, and MY words lmao...
anyway, thanks for the info.
