Someone broke my mirror off the side of my car. All the wires are still in tact and the mirror is not cracked. They just snapped it of the side and I can see the black plastic part that snapped. THere are two screw in parts. Do I take it to a dealer or a body shop? I need to know what part to buy so I can at least try to put it back on myself first.

I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like the mirror itself is broken. Usually the sub assembly parts of the mirror assembly are not serviced by the parts department. Usually you need to buy the whole mirror assembly which may or may not be available in body color. If not, the mirror will have to be painted.

If it was my car's mirror, I'd try to glue it back together with CA (crazy glue). You can get some thicker CA glue from hobby shops. Then I'd try to reinforce my repair with epoxy, aluminum, screws....

Just out of curiosity, have you priced the mirror? What does it cost, and does it come in color?

same thing happened to me monday night the mirror was like 300 bucks so i just used plastic weld epoxy by devcon to fix it. you have to take the door panel off and unplug th mirror. after that you have to remove the 3 screws that are holding the remaining black plastic on. it will require a 10mm deep socket. take them inside and preassemble as normal then mix ur plastic weld epoxy and put on using a popsicle stick. let it sit for about 12 hours before you put it back on. since then i have been threw i drive threw car wash 2 times and had the car to 120 with no problems. dont be scared to use alot of epoxy. i used the whole tube. you can never have to much rienforcement. if you need a picture of the finished mirror i can take one but it wont be till the end of the day.

THanks for the info everyone. Im going to look up taking the dor pannel off so I can at least not have the mirror hanging like it is. Gixxer what did you do with the popscile stick?

epoxy (plastic weld) works real good for thing like this if it is a clean break (if it kinda shattered and there are smaller loose pieces then it might be more difficult ), if you can take the studs off (remove the nuts from the inside) and epoxy them back onto the mirror if you can set them on it straight and they wont move while the epoxy is setting up, let it set overnight then put it back on the next day

you will need it to spread the plastic weld epoxy so you dont contaminate it. i will be removing the mirror in about 20 minutes if you would like any pics. and im removing it to add more epoxy to stregthen it more

Pics would definately help me out. Your prob already finished by now but if you have em please post em

never actually got around to it i will taKe them today and post them up

dont know if these will help but here they are. there is only three screws and a tab holding the remaining plastic on. just remove it and place on top of your mirror. add epoxy and let dry for 12 hours. since i did mine its been threw the car wash and just today it got waxed with a buffer.
