What made and how did you get you LS

traded in a 1998 dodge avenger with a blown tranny, 2 bad lower control arms, with only 68k on it....

it was becoming a money pit (both performance parts and replacement parts lol)

with a dead trans, it was appraised at 2200, then i got 500 for it when i pulled nearly everything i could salvage from the car

dropped it off at the dealers lot with 1 seat, no speakers, no stereo, factory cams, no exhaust (litterally, not even an exhaust mani), 4 donuts (apparently there was quite a demand for polished factory 17s), door panels pulled off, intake ended at throttle body, stock intake mani thrown back on, etc...

ended up selling parts for 7100

found a sexy 2000 LS sport 3.0L...

81k miles, perfect body, perfect interior (minus the annoying seatback issue)

was a ford exec car for the first 4 years of its life, then locally owned and serviced.

they wanted 9100, paid 6k

I had always liked the LS, but never thought about owning one. Previous car died on me, and called a couple places. The LS was the best one in the price range I was looking for (around 10K, was stickered at 9K, got it for 8K).

It was a fresh trade not even out of cleanup yet.

I've liked and wanted an LS when they were first introduced, but they were always more than I was willing to pay for. I was on craigslist one day in January this year and came across the ad for the car I have now. It had to be black if I bought one with gray leather which is excatly what this is. The price was very good, so I went and looked at it and bought it on the spot. I had to de-pimp and repair the car quit a bit, but it has been well worth it. Love it!

Late in 2006 my wife was tired of her '97 Safari that we bought new. She wanted a car. I suggested the LS since CTS-V's were too much, and I wanted a sports touring type of car. We drove the LS and liked it, and paid $11,800 for it. After owning the car for almost three years, she loves it, and I mostly do to. I'm the one who fixes it when it breaks.

A freind I used to own a bodyshop with said he liked the LS and that put it in my mind.
Up until then I had never heard of it.
When it came time to buy a car in 07 I did my homework and got an 04, the second year of the gen 2 model.
The CTS was more money and I really wanted a V8 even if it was smallish.
The depreciation worked in my favor getting it for 18,500.00 off a lot in cleveland as a just 3 year old car with 22k on the clock that listed over 40k new.
I drove 400 miles there and back twice because of the light green metalic.
Didn't want a black, white, or silver type color and wanted the tan interior with the woodgrain.

I owned a lincoln town car so when it came time to look for another vehicle then this came to mind. I wanted a 4 door v8 with a smaller platform cause the town car is a beast. I am in love with my LS, even if it spends more time in the garage then on the road.

Kinda reminds me of an abusive girlfriend, they beat you up but you come crawling back. LOL

I found my LS on Autotrader and i wanted it cause it was black. This was my first and only black car. :(

wrecked my previous car and held out buying a car for about a month because i was going to a family members house for thanksgiving and they live in a much bigger city so i figured i would find someting, the only car i had in my mind was a a4, really wanted an s4 but a little out of my range, went out the day after thanksgiving and the first lot i pulled into was a ford used car lot, saw the LS and drove home in it. didnt know alot about the cars, had seen a few before and loved the way they looked but never read into them too much, wish i would of held out and found a 2nd gen but im still happy with my car.

I did a lot of the Prototype testing and development work on these back in 1998/99 and fell in love with them in 2001 one i got my 2000 gen1 and shes been carring me for over 245000 miles and still going strong

I grew up on Fenkell (5 mile) and schaefer

Had a 93 Toyota Celica. Before that a 90 Lincoln Town Car and before that a 1989 Chysler Fifth Avenue. I had remembered the LS comercials when they first came out in 99 with the black LS driving across the white sand desert. Always wanted one and finally had enough money to buy a real car. Test drove 14 before I bought mine for 10K in 2005. Will never sell it. I may buy other cars, but I will sit on my 01 LS til I am forced by God or some natural force to get rid of it.

My wife and I just bought a Infiniti Fx50 for those of you looking for an sport suv .... super awsome. Will post pics.

The car below is what started my love for LSs. Its a 2000, when my parents got the car it was only two years old. First time i set a foot in it, i knew i had to have one. Unfortunately, we had to get ride of the car not too long after we got it. I miss that car.

Here i am seven years later with my own LS.

i went to my lincoln dealer and looked at cars. came across the ls and said damn .

sat down inside and knew that it would be perfect to burn in .

then i paid for the lincoln and left and bought some orange haze and smogged the lincoln out.

now i have a stinkin lincoln.<3

Saw one at the '98 car show in San Diego. Then and there I decided that if I could ever afford one I would have one.

Almost the same here. Saw it when it was in concept form back in '98 in magazines and on the web, loved it to death. Saw one in person in 2000 and that sealed the deal. Once I could afford it I knew I'd have it.

Having owned two mid-80's Towncars in my teenage years I was already very aware that the depreciation on Lincolns combined with their quality and reliability made them great cars. The LS doesn't really fit this mold but that's ok. I loved my Towncar's to death.

Edited to add I also moved up from a Dodge Avenger to the LS.
