Well here is a picture of the car. I don't know what you even call it, but is it easy to remove? Also if I remove will it look bad or will it just be a clean white surface?

02ls194 is right it's just chrome trim, rip it off, you could paint over it too so it wouldn't look like something is missing.

for the record, "ripping it off" will cause damage, you need to remove the bumper cover and take the clips off from the inside

your best off removing it and having it painted, it will look terrible if it is just missing...

Well I really don't like that chrome trim piece, but if I take it off it will look stupid with random places that clips should go in. I would plasti dip it but not sure how that would look. Might try a glossifier on black.

why dont you just have it painted to match the rest of the car, then it would disappear and would look like a sport LS...

while your at it, you could do the back one too.

This is actually a great idea and I don't know why I didn't think about it. Should I just take it to a local body shop, or would I be able to do it myself possibly? Where can I find the exact color for this if I do it myself?

You may want to get a self etching primer too.

honestly, if it was me, I wouldn't even try to spray it my self if i had a Tri coat pear color of paint! sh!t is hard to get right, and next to impossible for even a professional to get a perfect match...

Hmmm, well not sure what to do now lol. I might take it to a body shop and get an estimate soon. I can't stand the chrome.

The car is a "white pearl tri-coat" according to paint sites. WF is the color code by the VIN that I took off the car. WF/M6864 is the full code I believe from the paint sites.

same color as mine then, if you wanted a cheap way to see how your car looks with the chrome painted white , buy white plasti dip and one can of pearlizer to try to match it up , just a thought to make sure you like it

Has to be hands down the hardest color to match properly. It is actually a 3-stage application process.

Lol, I don't know why I didn't think of this. I'm plastidipping everything lately. Thanks for the tip, I will try this!

same here , you should match the surrounding grille white too , and black out ur rims , thats what i got going on , stormtrooper looking

Yeah, I will probably be doing that. My glossifier and plasti dip arrived in the mail today. Going to do the bottom between the lights gloss black and the grill gloss black until I get white dip. Also the back around the license plate gloss black and if I don't like it probably white.

i used plasti dip because the guy that was suppose to tint them with film cancelled on me and i couldnt wait so i did them myself, I used really light and even coverage so light can still shine through, this is temporary but i like it for now
