My 02 LS V8 Sport, needs the Cooling system bled due to a front end accident where the radiator was replaced. It overheats sometimes, due to air in the cooling system. It was fine for 3 months until I cut the heat on last night then it started overheating again in 95 degree weather.

Some shops said its a self bleed system, others said the bleed valve next to the degas bottle is the way to bleed it. But how do you do it in steps? Can someone help me to how you bleed all the air out in steps please.

Thanks

Hey guys, I'm glad I found this website for LS owners. Lots of great information, anyway, I was having the same issue coolant bleeding question about my car. My 2003 LS V8 sport required the thermostat housing
be replaced, it took a couple of bleeds and reading the Tech. doc. for "Draining the Lincoln LS Cooling System". So far the bleeding is getting most of the air out but my issue is the bleed air screw is leaking coolant. I've
tried several things i.e. letting the engine cool then screwing it back in and trying to screw it in when straight coolant is coming out. Autoparts store recommend me put a light RTV, Thread lock, thread tape and even just
replace the screw. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks!

The bleed port comes with the degas bottle, so you could replace it that way. (Trust me, you need a new degas bottle anyway.)
If you don't like that, put a slightly larger screw in.
