What is the cheapest way to add HP to an 03+ LS8?

"whether it is KKM K&N homemade or not has no bearing on the additional power you made with the nitrous."

Without the nitrous:

Factory tune run produced 229.2 HP and 245.3 TORQUE. The "HARD SHIFT PERFORMANCE TUNE" produced 251.3 HP (Up from 232.5, *tune that came with it) and 286.2 (Up from 257.6, *tune that came with it) TORQUE.

The above tune (*X-3) had only the KKM and a cat back single Magnaflow 2.5 over stock. The tuner said the KKM would produce more performance than the exhaust system. I'm sure that the X-3 produced by far the vast majority of the total increase. At any rate, I am pleased with the construction/appearance of the KKM, and my only concern is whether or not the K&N produces more HP than the KKM as claimed. If it does, then it would be worth the extra bucks. The only way to find out would be to run both on the DYNO one after another. If I can find someone else who has a K&N that would fit, then I will try this the next time they have a free DYNO day at FASTLANE, but they all run Mustangs, so we shall see.

The KKM will make more power in itself. I wasn't debating that side of things. Regardless of the "bang for the buck" factor it still is a CAI and makes more power than the stock airbox. Maybe I didn't understand your post correctly but it appeared as if you were stating that the KKM somehow played a part in you making that power you did on the nitrous oxide. Believe it or not, while spraying nitrous oxide you do not actually flow much more (if any) air through the CAI itself which means that nitrous' power making ability lies independent of the CAI in any car; regardless of manufacturer. Either way this KKM debate has gone on too far and too many people have misunderstood what my meaning was here. Go figure on an internet forum. Buy what you want.
