I just recently purchased (last week) a 2002 LS V8 and am thinking about upgrading the stereo. For a few days the system sounded really good and the bass was suprising. Since then the quality has gone down and I am thinking that maybe the speakers are paper. Are there different trim levels of the LS V8? If so how can you figure out which one you have?

The stereo that I have is the Apline 6cd in-dash cd changer. Can someone tell me what size speakers I have, their location, and quality? I'm thinking about puting my old headunit in from my previous car (Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD). Would you guys suggest putting this in? Will I lose any functionality of anything else in the car if this is installed?

I know this one long, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've been reading the forums and I am still a bit confused. Is the stereo I have the audiophile system? If so are the speakers paper? I can tell that there are some speakers in the rear deck. What kind of speakers are those? What size? I have a lot of vibration back there, should I replace them or look for what is causing the vibration.

Thanks for any help you can give.

there is an adapter for the steering wheel controls, the deh6500 is a descent model, better then that factory hu you have.. I would put it in.. I had the 6400 and the 7500, 6400 being 3 yrs old or so and it was a lot better then the stock setup.. Lets you adjust a lot of things..
