I'm just looking at my options here for the Mark.

I was wondering if anyone knows what's included in the kits?

Reason I ask is because I need to do the 1-2 upgrade on my car and may do the transgo or jmod depending on price(probably won't do it myself, still unsure).

The tech at transgo didn't really have an answer for me and the site does not mention included parts.

Anyone know by chance?

J-mod requires no parts ... it's working witht he existing transmission.

I know that, I'm trying to figure out if the Transgo comes w/ any springs or pistons, etc. The Transgo guy said it does but I'm not sure if he knows what he's talking about.

dont get a transgo kit...

do the Jmod for the correct HP level of your car, and upgrade the accumulators and springs.

the transgo kit does alot of stupid things to the 4R70w that really are bad things in the overall scheme of things.

transgo may be great for a TH350-400
but not for a 4R70w.

I hope shift kits come with a new transmission, you will need it.

Some like it, some dont.

I prefer to stick with what Jerry suggests...and that's the Jmod.

Bauman does make a cool/nifty trans controller, but it's a duplication of efforts when you have the SCT stuff, as you already have all the control you need to make the trans work.

If I were doing a street rod swap, I'd def consider the baumann controller!

I actually have the pistons and springs you'll need - PM me if you want them. They're new!

I'd go with the Trans go kit. I have the reprogammer kit for my 98. Its great Not as many steps as the j-mod. Trans go pretty much started the shift kit market they know what there doing its their job. The kit came with everything needed for parts. I forget if it was two or one accumilator spring it came with. Depending on how hard you want it to shift it tells you what to do. I did mine with a friend maybe 6000 miles ago, when I test drove it and it spun second i was happy. The trans is original 145000 miles and going good.

I would rather do the JMod. Designed by a guy who helped develop the trans. Also its a mod that is more about extending trans life and happens to result in better shifts versus a kit that is all about making better shifts with trans life as an afterthought.

Isn't the Jmod more about the 1-2 shift and not the rest of the shifts?

I have a Trans Go kit and have not put it in just yet as it was cold and I didn't want to lie out under my car. I don't want the tire chirping stuff but I want all shifts firm.

no the Jmod is far more than the 1-2 shifts, go re-read the article on tccoa.

I installed a TransGo in my gen 1 about 12,000 miles ago, along with a 24,000 GVW cooler, and it's great-no problems whatsoever, came with 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators and springs, easy to do too. Big improvement, I have 125,000 miles on this trans and it feels great.

i got the blue oval chips valve body kit. it comes with a pre-drilled valve body, springs, pistons, and a trans filter for about $250. this is the j-mod set up

Sure.... but my Mark will be the first I have ever done by myself...

I'm confident in my abilities to follow step by step instructions though.... come on up :D You will need accumulators and springs for your 93 though....
