where do u get the clay bars from?

You can get the from Meguiar's ( http://www.meguiars.com/ ), but it seems like I also saw them at AutoZone the last time I was in there.

Ok can somebody please explain to me how to use a clay bar and what it does to your finish? I am very reluctant to put any kind of abrasive on my car after I wash it. I need to put a good coat of wax on it but when do you use the clay bar? :L

Clay bar is like an eraser for your paint. You tear off a chunk from the bar.......lubricate the surface of your freshly washed car (i use water in a spray bottle) and use the clay bar like an eraser. Using clay bar eliminates the contaminents from your paint such as rail/brake dust etc. You should be able to tell if your car needs clayed by feeling the paint.......if the paint doesn't feel like the smoothest thing you have ever felt, then it needs clayed. You're not hurting your paint.
