...the Democrats couldn't even pass the bill despite their majority in the house... that shouldn't bode well for them. Let's see how this plays out in the media...
Actually, I caught a minute of Ron Paul speaking on the floor of the house this morning and he was 100% dead on right. This isn't a failure of free market capitalism, it's a failure of government.

A friend told me he read all 110 pages of the bill last night, and it STILL HAD THE ACORN PROVISION IN IT.

not about the bailout its what can be buried with in it so the people don't know what hit um

Regardless of what transpires in this mess, I see no good in it. We, the taxpayers, will be stiffed with a heavy burden and I feel nothing but anger in it. Some people need to go down for this mess and I don’t care who they are or what party they're from. I for one am all for making an example out of the whole lot of them. I'm not talking merely about removing them from office, but rather prison and heavy financial penalties....let's just take everything they own!!! Our politicians and the significant others involved need to be taught a lesson in this, one that they, and those of the future, will never forget. They need to be held accountable for their negligence.

From the various articles I have read, it is starting to sound like the non party elite from both sides if the isle revolted and voted no.
There was a poll in the Chicago Tribune that shows Americans dont believe the bailout woulr work. It was 7-1 against the bailout.

While that would be fine and dandy with me, we ARE still a nation of laws, so unless they've done something illegal (and that is still an open question), we can't just start throwing people in prison because we're pissed off.
I feel they should be forced to work at McDonalds, and have to move back in with their parents.
And, as only Congress can do - they won't even look at this again until the end of the week - what will the market do in the mean time...

And of course the LSM is blaming the Republicans for striking it down. I'm glad it got voted down. Personally, I don't think we really need it in the first place. Let the damn dominoes fall. Let people see why, and who, is really at fault here, and pay the consequences of poor financial decisions.
Last week on the news (I forget which channel, sue me) they said over 7.5 million homeowners spent more than 50% of their income on housing last year. Now when you consider that they already spent 30% of their income to pay the government, they're only left with 20% to cover everything else. Double-you tee eff are these people thinking?
What ever happened to the 3 year rule? The one that says you don't buy a house if it costs more than what you earn in 3 years salary?
