Little better, i ended it at that. i raced my buddy in his 2001 mustang bullit, he has full exhaust minus headers. i have stock exhaust with moroso spiral flow mufflers. i may have been spinning but i have no clue, couldnt really hear anything.

do these numbers sound about right for a 2000 ls v8? I did have golf clubs, spare tire, some clothes, and half a tank of gas. birth date is may of 99, so it should have the 3.51 gears.

anyways it was a blast, i knew once i went id want to do more stuff to the car. the plan has been a turbo, but im not sure if i REALLY want to spend the money, so maybe a used nitrous kit, 100 shot.

i always take our my spare and every other thing i can out of my car so that may help you alot next time. For a pretty much stock car those times sounds about right, good job. look into adding an intake next as well as the xcal2 if you really enjoy the track that much.

i plan on doin a custom 2.5 inch exhaust with x-pipe, go from my pvc 3" intake to an alluminum intake, and do the xcal. from what ive read that should be good for mid 14's. once i do consistant mid 14's im going to go with nitrous and get into the 13's.

those sound slow to me.... no offense just trying to help you gauge what you saw. Track makes some difference to, but at sea level at New England Dragway, I ran a 15.4 with stock intake and exhaust... in fact my whole car was stock except for a my 20" rims. those slow you down. I would expect to see 15.2 out of a stock rimmed, with CAI and exhaust.

no offense taken, thats why i got on here and posted asking if they seemed right. i dont have full exhaust, just mufflers. intake is 3inch pvc piping.

The track is addictive. I used to bring my bone stock - and very slow - 87 LSC to run it all the time. That turned into going from a 16 second car into a 12 second terror.....and got expensive QUICK! lol

unless your PVC and muffler are more restrictive (highly doubt) you should be better off than stock. Out of curiosity, do you has SST and are you using it?

Just muffers don't do a whole lot and without knowing how your intake is done its hard to say if its any help. But stock can do a little better than that.

I ran 15.0 with intake and exhaust 20s on
14.5 same mods stock 17s.

Your 60' can be improved to high 2.1s to at worse low 2.2s. That'll shave .2-.3. Your speed is kinda low should be around 92-93 stock. Extra weight can cause that. Not so much the extra gas I often run with half tank, get the crap out of the trunk, spare too.

SST if you have it does help, it tightens the shifts and improves speed from what I could tell when I ran on stock tune.

Golf clubs and full sized spare might be 100lbs right there. That *might* be good for .4 of a second

IDK about .4 seconds.... but it'll slow you down. I had two rims with drag radials, and my spair only lost .2.......... the radials arent for the LS if thats the question coming my way

You are correct. For a car going the ET's that the LS does a 100 pound difference of sprung weight will make about a .1-.15 second difference in ET in the 1/4 mile.

The reason nwhy Jason gained so much when going from his 20's to the stocker 17's was because that weight was rotational weight not just sprunk weight to is counts for about 3 times as much when comparing rotational to sprung weight differences.

yea i cleaned her out today, i am addicted though already for sure. I knew it was a bad idea to go haha.

i do not have SST either. i ran in D5 the whole time. i dont know if manually shifting wouldve helped or not.

my intake is pretty simple. 90 degree bend, straight pipe, 90 degree bend, and another straight pipe to the MAF all 3". with the KKM filter it was whistling like crazy, so i put the stock airfilter box back on with a k&n filter. from what ive heard this isnt a bad setup becuase unlike the kkm its not collecting all the air in the hot engine bay. the mufflers are highflow but i know its nothing that is going to increase horespower by more then 2 at most.

im planning on buying a 2.5" X-pipe, then going to a shop for a 2.5" dual exhaust, no resonators, and the same mufflers i have now if they are salvageable and not to rusty to weld. so that will be within the near future.

if the whistling you are talking about is what I think it is... your not hearing a bad thing. With a Ram/CAI you should hear the high pitched sucking noise! Thats your engine getting the air it wants....

Try running TC off in D4 Hold the brakes down and the gas to bout 1000rpm (play with this a bit for your car) and launch from there. Dont wait for the green either. I use to go off the last yellow.... now I go when the second yellow turns off. My reation time is getting slow in my old age

trilkb, yes manually shifting (without SST) is many steps above auto. you could knock a tenth off by manual shifting- its quicker and firmer. with your gears you will need to shift to 4th before the line- costing you some time. a custom tune can fix that, and ILLS can help you out there if you're interested.

NHLSV8, I also go to NED. I'm actually going on 5/30 with my brother and a couple friends. Its a fast track but I have not been since they re-finished the launch area. i never ran my car stock, but i hope to sneak in a high 12 with the nitrous.
