So the heated seets... I tturn them on, they get warm, but then shut off in 10 min or so? What gives? THis normal?

why is that normal? I am in IL..its not that cold..., but I like when I turn them on they stay on! I have never heard of such a thing?

Probably so you don't forget and end up with swamp ass. Congrats on the acquisition. Mine doesn't have heated seats, but I guess that's not such a big deal down here.

okay so who has figured out how to by-pass the 10 min timer :) I know SOMEONE has done it! :Beer

The seat heater was designed to augment the HVAC system prior to the engine heating up enough to warm the entire vehicle (not to warm your bottom all day long) and bring the leather seating surfaces to a comfortable temp. After 10 minutes of driving the engine should be sufficiently warm enough to heat the vehicle on it's own (to include the seats). Just put the AC on auto and kick it up to 80 degrees. You'll be sweating in no time...

Same here I was wondering about too but I didnt pay it no mind I kinda figured it had a shut off timer on it but it's all good I don't mind at all that it shuts off in 10 mins thats enough time and if your still cold after that then just turn them back on :L :L

Guess its just what I was used to thats all! I had my remote start hooked up to my seats in my tahoe so I could turn them on remotely, and they would be all tosty warm when I got in :)

It may also be a safety thing too. I thought my fiance was the only one that used that everyday. First thing she does is hit the seat heaters..lol.. I keep telling she going to break those buttons cause they are only made to be pressed so many times and each times she presses them its taking the count lower..lol.. And plus i showed her a pic that someone posted of a f150 truck that caught on fire cause of the heated seats.. Thats gotta be warm.. lol.. hence why i think it may be a safety thing too maybe.
