it may be shot,i dunno.
the car sat for a few months, went to get it back out again, dead battery.
battery was under free replacement warranty so got a new one.

started the car up,started checking fluids, noticed trans fluid wasn't touching the stick, hmm odd, nothing under the car leaking.
went back to the auto parts store, got 1 qt of lucas trans additive and 2 quarts mercon V, put those in the car, shifted through the gears, level ok.

now time for a drive, took off fine, shifted through all gears perfectly, drove 2 miles, turned in to head back, no forward gears!!! reverse is fine,so backed it home, checked fluid again,2 quarts low, still no leak to be found. added the 2 quarts and still no forward gears no matter what.

i've never heard of all the forward gears going out at once like this with no warning. is there a solenoid problem or something simple?

or is the trans just straight TOASTED???

94 m8 btw.

need help please, if it's not a simple fix then it will be sold, traded,or parted out. i'm going back to my 5 speed mustangs!

one thing arnt you suppose to always check the tranny fluid with the car running. Start it up and check the level

i did lol. checked the fluid after i put a hot battery on it and started it. it's full now,but still no forward gears.

How much you want for the car and where is it? Color scheme?

probably has a slug of lucas in the valve body..

let it run for a bit, shift it thru the gears periodically, it might blow the booger out of the valve body

i'll try it XLRVIII, but we use the lucas at work and never had this happen before.

car is located in enville (west) tennessee 38332

i put lucas in my 95, after several uses in other vehicles.
bout 15 miles down the road it shifted funny a couple of times, i wrote it off to the thicker lucas slowing down the valves

just came in from messing around with it and noticed a high pitch tone when the gear selector is in drive, second or low. no noise in the other gears.
it won't pull forward at all ! reverse is right there though!

how ABOUT some pics?
