Has anyone ever thought of putting or cars on a diet, 3700LBS is quite a bit, and that's not including a 200lb driver, yikes!!!!!!

well...
You could only shed a few hundred pounds at most, but you would make some sacrafices:
Remove Spare Tire/Jack -- Cons: Hurting the near perfect 50/50 wieght distribution. Oh and helpless if ya get a blowout.
Remove the Wife/Girlfriend -- Cons: Depending on the individual body type, this could be extremely beneficial in the 1/4, however there may be some dispute back on the homefront.

The weight would be a lot more if the LS didn't have aluminum fenders, aluminum hood, aluminum wheels, aluminum suspension, aluminum engine block, aluminum heads, and aluminum trunk lid.
