Hey guys,
Need some help. I was trying to put my Accel coils on today, and just to be sure tested if there was any danger of water getting in and messing up my coils. Well what i found was alarming:

I'm getting a good amount of water leaking in. Particularly in two spots; right over coils. Im not sure exactly where the water is getting in but i think it has to do with the rubber piece/seal that contours the windshield.

I had my windshield replaced about 2 years ago, and i was never completely happy with the job. I'm wondering if that had something to do with it?

any thoughts on how to fix it? should i just take it to some glass/window place? or could the leak be coming from somewhere else? cowl?

I took a video to see if it explains my problem better, hope you guys can see it. I poured a generous amount of water over the windshield, and this is what happened:

DAMN! I would take the whole thing apart, maybe it's a seal that's not sitting right or you possibly have rust but your car is fairly new, don't see why it would have rust up there....

Hey, look @ the right side, on rainy days your engine must run so much cooler! :)

From the relevant part of the TSB

COWL PANEL GRILLE AND FOAM SEAL
1. Remove the cowl panel grille refer to section 501-02 of the 2005 Lincoln LS Workshop Manual.
2. Remove the foam seal and discard (Figure 1).
3. Clean foam-sealing area using Bug and Tar Remover (ZC-42) or equivalent.
4. Install a new foam seal (5W4Z-54021A46-A), centering the seal on the hole of the cowl panel grille (Figure 1).

Mine does the same thing, not that bad though. Ever since I took everything apart to replace the degas bottle its did it. I had no idea you could buy just the seal

You can buy generic foam sealing in a roll from an auto-parts place for very little and be sure there's enough area covered to stop a leak like that! And the use of Mustang plug boots will seal each of the plug silos.

+1. I used the mustang boots and they work perfect

Broken windshield nozzle/sprayer?

Thanks guys. I was using the mustang boots in the past, i guess thats why i never had any issues.

Also, i broke the windshield washer/sprayer/nozzle when taking the cowl apart to see where the water was leaking in. Any idea where i can get just the little plastic nozzle?

LOL....thats sucks dude.

Now you have a water leak and only 1 sprayer. Damn lincoln!
