Water Leak

I noticed about a month ago after a down pour of rain that I had a water spot at the top of the drivers side A-Pillar. I pulled back the weather stripping on the car at the top and there is a small screw that looks old and has some rust on it. This screw is at the same point as the water spot but it is not directly over it, just even with it. I was going to try to just seal that screw but have not gotten around to it so I do not know if that is the cause or not.
Well yesterday after a down pour I get in the car and no water spot, but when I was pulling out I took a left turn and water came pouring out of the plastic part holding the visor to the headliner. Not the part that you can snap the visor in or out but the one closes to the door that holds it in place.
Does anyone have any ideas of the best way to fix? I was thinking of taking the headliner down, but it looks to be a bitch to get off and back on.
Advice is appericated.

Thanks

Sounds like the sunroof drain is leaking. You'll have to take the A pillar and headliner down. Might want to zip tie the connection, as it's a pretty common thing that comes apart on these cars.

How hard is it to take off the headliner? Mine is on pretty good, and I do not know where to start with it. Do you take the A-pillar off first, then the liner?

I believe you need to undo the sunvisors to get it to move. Not real sure, as I'd like to know because I could fix mind and put the LED lights in finally lol

Yep... you need to remove the visors, a pillars, oh sh*t handles, i think that's it. I had to remove those to drop the headliner enough to replace the dome lights with LED's.

+1, make sure you have the tool to take the torx screws out or this will be a major PITA project. are you under warranty?

No, it is out of warranty, but I have an extended, but I will need to check to see if this is covered. I would not think it is, but it is worth a try.

+1, mine leaked when I first got the car. The drain tube had disconnected, water leaked all over my center console and shifter. Filled my cupholders, it was awesome!

I had the odd problem of having water on the passenger A-pillar. I took it off and there was a pool of water in the top of the A-pillar, water in the pocket of the door and down on the floor. Would this be the same issue? I park on an incline that raises the passenger side. We had a good rain last night but didn't notice it until I was already 10 minutes into driving. I didn't find any other sign of water.

EDIT: A few more search pages and I would have found this for my problem: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=22410&highlight=leak

Just to update, it was the passenger front hose that was undone. As a FYI to others, there are 4 drain tubes from the moonroof so water at any of the pillars indicates a leak.

Thats what I found with mine. The driver drain tube, I guess shrunk, and would not on. I had to go get some tubing and cut about 4 inches and attach that to the drain and the other end to the hose. Works well now, but a pain in the ass. Sure hope the rears do not come off, they look like a bitch to get to.
