wants to sometimes Idle high

Hey guys did do some searching, My Mark Gen1 Lsc sometimes the idle wants to go up to almost 2-2.25 grand and set there, Old carberatior trick of reving it up seems to take it down to the 1 ish it idles at normaly

What is causing the computer to tell the idle to go up that high??

IAC. But I am not sure if it can cause THAT high of an idle.

So maybe sticking throttle cable.

but i would not be able to kick off the IAC correct

No, revving the engine actuates the IAC (to close), so yes revving could "reset" it. I just dont think the IAC can hold an idle that high.

I would inspect that your tb is closing all the way...

I would change your IAC if it has never been done before, and I would give it a seafoam treatment, that stuff works wonders!

I would say IAC since it is intermittant. Have fun changing it on a Gen1

Not on a Mark but I have seen it before. Many years ago I worked with a girl that had a K car and it would get up to 40mph without touching the gas pedal because the IAC was bad.

It is on the back of the intake... down by the firewall and it is kind of a bitch to get to.

as viewed from the drivers seat through the firewall, the round cylinder held on with 2 bolts with the black top on the right side of the throttle body, opposite where the egr would be
