I pulled the w3z3 out of a 93 is it a better swap than a w3z2? I read the other post but no one said anything about the w3z3. Anything helps guys
 
I've seen posts that the W3Z2 is better than the W3Z3, i'm sure others will post.
 
they are close.
the z2 has more timing and more trans line pressure.
i didn't notice much difference myself. but my trans already had the jmod.
the z3 did have better mileage though.
 
Well I have another ecu the original out of the 95 but I don't remember the Id on it, I'm away. But it's chipped, and I need to get the chip reprogrammed. I'm going to put the w3z3 in and see what it does. I'll be on the look out for a z2. I'm really looking for better spark and what not lol

The chip should be doing that for you if it's being programmed correctly. If you have a 95 original, it should be a DZA1 and if you took that chip and put into a Z3 or Z2, it would be just as equal. If you want to do away with the chip all together and go with a stock, aggressive tune, the Z2 is the one. If someone were take your chip and had the tune from a Z2, it could be burned onto your chip that's in the DZA1 and be the same.

Shift pressure on the W3Z2 PCM is 15 PSI higher.

That's great thanks for that info, I'm going to put the z3 in, so the chip basically will work in the z3 cause my ecu is the one you said.
