Volkswagen Phaeton vs Mark VIII

I actually floored the car to get by this person in a pick up, I guess the phaeton thought it was on. I slowed back down to 70 MPH after passing the pick up truck. when I see the volks is stuck in traffic behind me. He finally gets out, and I see him coming fast up behind me. He was three car lenghts behind me when I went WOT, He caught up by 2 car lenghts behind. After that I put bus lenghts on him. Had a race from 70 MPH hour to 110 MPH.

Gotta say that car looked nice, I thought it was a lexus LS460 at first. It has a 335 HP V8 but only a 15.7 @ 92.5 MPH
still a nice run
BTW this was in my 97 Mark VIII

Comparing Road and Track 1/4 mile times vs. a 70-110mph sprint is a little skewed.

They don't have a V6 but I am guessing its a V8. I don't think I could beat a w12..lol

I don't see it on MSN but I am gonna go with the V8 one I didn't know VW created a Lux car, its actually nice.

they did for only a few years it was a big hit by all the auto reviewers supposedly powerful, luxurious, incredibly reliable... but noone could fathom a 100,000 dollar VW and the body kinda looks like a fat passat. so they stopped you can snag up some for 20-40k now.

I backed down from one of those when I saw a 12 badge on the rear bumper.

That W12 is a machine! From what I have read, the car shuts down at 155mph. It is capable of over 205mph if they over ride the system. Check out the youtube review of the car. Crazy engineering.

I have a friend that just bought an Audi A8 (very nice). He looked a the Phaeton and really wanted one, but was kind of let down by the interior. The Audi has much nicer interior.

Nope... the majority are 8. I think the car would have done better if they would have tried to sell the 12 more in the states.

I bet the W12's didnt sell well because the W12 cost way to much (new) for a VW when you could go get a Benz or something. I know that if my price range was 100K Id be looking at BMW 7Series or Audi A8L, specificly the L.

NYC LS8- I think (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm guessing that the V6 wasn't imported to the US, cause Wiki shows a diesel engeine too, and I know they didnt offer that here in the states.
