vid of cai running..

i was shifting sst.. steering with my knee.. taping with my other hand.... let the first over rev a little.. not the safest way to be when going 90..

Sounds great, Midi! Almost sounds like a manual transmission between shifts. That's definitely a nice growl with the intake! :gr_hail:

thats actually with the windows up.. its loud as shiz with them down.. i love it tho.

i ordered part of my intake today...get that nice shiny intake pipe next week or so...also got those euro shocks...maybe hacking my exhaust next week also...

Nice sound, thats about what the KKM sounds like in my cabin. The heat shield is a plus though for the K&N.

Sounds awesome. I was wondering if you had stock exhaust or not but, that question got answered. I wonder if it would sound that good with a 1st gen Ls with stock exhaust....

The CAI really brings out the engine noise, and makes it seem like all the sound is coming from the front of the car, throw some mufflers on it to balance it out and you'll love it even more. If it wasn't 20 degrees outside I would record a vid, but I'm sure you can find them on here somewhere.

I'm guessing you have a first gen LS?

Hmm pretty sure this is on topic. Does anyone know of a CAI on a 1st Gen LS makes a big difference in sound...

I don't see why there would be a difference between a Gen1 and Gen2. They only have different size displacements. Perhaps the long tube leading from the engine intake on the Gen1 to the CAI might muffle the sound. I saw that the stock tube has silencers in it.

That and the Gen 2 has a less restrictive exhaust...

Doesn't mean it's any louder.

When my car was stock, I could never tell that the car was even on just by listening to it.

I wasn't referring to the exhaust though.... I am asking since the 1st gen Ls is more restrictive do you think the CAI would be as loud. I know that just because the exhaust is bigger doesn't mean louder just more air flow. Unless you just have straight pipes. lol I will just have to find out for myself at the end of the month. Oh well but, it sounds good.

You mean they DON'T have difference size displacement?

Displacement is the same through all years....

i'm not sure if midi just has the air filter or the cold air intake or both but when i installed the kkm it made a difference but not big enough compared to midi's. mine is a gen1. once again i'm not sure if he just got the air filter cone or both. either way it sounds nice
