  • Front Windshield- I've heard of people tinting that and i'm asking WHY?

  • Car wrapped- Have any of you thought about allowing your LS to be wrapped with Advertisement? Does not having to pay for gas make it more appealing?

  • Car Repair insurance- Does anyone thought about buying since LS has various issues that can tally up better quick. According to what i'm hearing is that they pay repair bill and you have a premium

Front windshield tinting is stupid. If someone were to get into an accident with me due to a tinted windshield, you can bet your ass there would be a lawsuit. How dumb is it to sacrifice safety of the other drivers on the road (and their passengers i.e. children) for a slightly darker glass?

I would rather pay for gas than have an advertisement plastered on my car. But if they paid for the vehicle/insurance/gas all together, I'd do it.

Never heard of car repair insurance.

The car repair insurance i've heard about recently is called StopRepairbill.com

If I didn't have to drive my car at night I would tint my windshield fer sure. Window tinting makes it feel sooo much cooler inside in the summer.

I've heard / seen people tint the top 4-8 inches, I've thought about doing it since the sun visors are mis sized for our cars. The whole windshield... thats crazy.

doing something like 40-50% on the windshield does not really affect driving @ night... I dunno if you have ever seen 40% tint but it is barely anything, just enough to knock down the glare and it looks really good too.

I will eventually do mine when I have the funds (it costs alot because u have to do cash under table for legality issues)

Also once you drive around with dark tint on your windows for a long time, you kinda learn to drive/backup with the limited visibility. Plus if you are really having trouble backing up.... simply roll down your window lol

i would like to do my front windshield with that uv film that you see on alot of new s-class benzs. its got kind of a bluish pearl tint to it and looks really nice and clean but i dont think i would do it with my color (dark blue). black or white looks good with it and silver im sure too.

  • Sun roof- it very noisy. Don't know the name of the part that stick up when you open the open roof. Is it supposed to dampen the wind noise?

  • Gas Mileage- have you done anything to improve it?

the wind deflector by ventshade will fix this problem, but it also stops almost all of the air from entering the cabin.

as far as mpg's....try a lighter shoe...or buy a honda :D

If you get your LS wrapped I am afraid we will have to kick you off LVC. I'll be the first to setup the survey asking for it. Get a junk car and wrap that instead.

I have never heard of anyone getting that repair insurance that didn't feel ripped off a few months later. You'd be better off making the payments to yourself in a separate bank account. That way you get the interest and the cash is there for repairs when you need it.

Windshield tint. Yeah sure, no opinion really. Just don't be stupid with it.

regarding the MPG's, it seems to me some are doing mods decrease it. I guess it depends on the purpose of the car. My LS is my everyday transportation

Get the SCT Xcal and a custom tune. Then - here's the tricky part - keep your foot out of it. The custom tune is fun, so your mpg's may decrease for a while. But when you drive like you normally do, you will get better mpg's with a tune. A custom tune makes your car run more efficiently. More hp, AND better fuel economy.

I have a 2000 model with the V8 and on the highway I get almost 24 mpg at 80 mph. I have a kkm intake kit and 40 series flowmaster mufflers. I also have 20" wheels so that hurts my mpg alittle bit so you should get better.

+1 didn't mean to be a di%% i'm just sayin that if you are concerned about MPG then the LS is NOT the car for you. It guzzles premium fuel and in town it's pretty thirsty.

As for better MPG...what pektel + anything to help...free flowing exhaust, k&n style slipin or cone replacement, tire pressure, and drive it like there is an egg behind the gas pedal.

yep...I've seen 27 at 60mph on the hiway before...it throws down when you drive right, but a few weeks ago, chasing rollin ls thru STL at 40-90mph I netted 16mpg when we arrived at hooters.

I have a v6 in my 2000 and I avearge about 330 miles to a full tank. What are you guys getting to a full tank. And in New York tons of people have their front windshield tinted. Not for me and any tint 40% or anything else does affect your vision at night. Unless you drive out in the country where night glare from lights is not a problem.

when I refuel mine usually says 345 till empty...i never check actual. don't wanna know...

00 v8

Speaking of refueling, I was not paying attention at the gas station yesterday, and accidentally filled up with 87

Still deciding... Probably throw in octane boost, and fill up with the proper fuel at a half tank, then run that one dry before refilling with 91.

  • Headrest- I don't know why this hasn't been done but the height of the headset should added to the memory seat function. I can comfortably adjust the headrest. (Is it possible to switch out with a newer LS b/c those are huge)

  • HID- Are they really better? If so, it's sure a while for some brands to switch over
