valve cover gaskets

are the valve cover gaskets side specific or the same for both passenger and driver side? i have 1 gasket and need to re-do the driver side but not sure if its the right gasket, need to know before i tear into it. thanks

You didn't give a year. I'm pretty sure the gen II covers are different left and right, they have different part numbers.

if you have the v8, they are both the same but sometimes it depends on the brand. If they have flat and molded sides then they could go only one way.
v6 are totally different.

They are the same or as far as i could tell. Done this job a few weeks back. My driver side was bad as well but i did both sides because i didn't want to revisit the vcg job anytime soon.
