Hello
I just have a quick question of the the V8 valve cover gasket replacement. The bolts that hold the valve cover to the head. Do I just loosen them up and leave them with the valve cover or do I remove the bolts from the valve cover and then remove the valve cover? Also I have the Felpro gasket set which has zero directions. There are the orings for the plugs and center bolts. My second question is there are alot of smaller orings what are these for the bolts? Thanks alot.

I left all bolts in. All the little o rings are for the bolts I didn't change them. The bolts are held in with the gasket, only two bolts cam out of mine it was the driver rear lower bolt and maybe the rear bolt on pass side valve cover. I had to get the gasket to pop off the metal then go around and spin some of the bolts a little more to get them all the way loose. Pretty cool design, sure makes reinstalling easier.

Thanks thats what I tought I am doing passenger side now all I have to figure out is how to remove what looks to be a vacuuum line to the top of the valve cove, looks to be some type of spring connector.

The chrome thing with the green clip is the fuel line. I bled the pressure off at the Schroeder valve then used a cheap plastic tool from oreillys designed to push in on the spring so you can disconnect the line.

If you don't want a future leak from the old o'ring gaskets for the bolts, I would replace them now. Lesson learned!

Well I finished passenger side of engine, plugs 2 and three were swimming in oil. Car has 72xxx miles on it so all plugs and coils were original, those were changed. I replaced all o'rings for bolts plugs etc. I still have to do drivers side. Car seems to be running 100& better. Thanks for all the help.
