v6 turbo charger

my v6 went 13's on a 100 shot like 3 years ago. manual tranny, custom exhaust and intake, no tune. 13.56 was its best. no problems for the first few years i ran it like that. then it started throwing rods everywhere after it got car jacked.

3.0 liter
custom made exhaust,REAL cold air intake, custom wet n2o kit
Tranny type:
Manual
Tires:Street Radials
60 foot time:1.300
1/4 Mile ET:13.560
1/4 Mile MPH:102.30

There is an equation that doesnt add up.
A gen 1 V6 with only a 100 shot (and no tune). Whats that, 310 HP at the flywheel?
You would need slicks to run a 1.300 60 footer.
Not enough power to trap 102 mph
Maybe if you gut the car. Timeslip please?

the V6 may give up more initial power, but isnt it better suited for power adders than the V8? Isn't it forged rods and pistons in the little bugger? then again, there's less cylinders to distribute the power. 605, do you have a manual trans?
i reccomend a nitrous shot (biased opinion) for what you're after. I raced my brothers lt-1 formula with my V8 and 100 shot with tune and i barely pulled away (he wasnt running his 150 shot but it has a chip). we raced from about 30 mph roll up to about 90 and his nose was at the front of my door. We weigh substantially more than an F-body. I don't think you'd beat her with the 100 shot alone (max safest amount for that stock motor) unless you lost some weight (especially rotational weight) or if she drove it bad, lost traction.
don't let that be a reason for doing or not doing though. will you still be happy you spent the money if you lose? if you answered yes, then do it. there's a few on here with invaluable info to help you should you decide to proceed.

I actually wouldn't mind spending the money, she drives a Z she once blew the clutch before trying to race, I wouldnt mind a fine tune, and 100 shot, just for fun but the problem is I know absolutely NOTHING about how to race or take care of my engine, I'd hate myself if I blew the trans, would be nice to put some speed on my LS, atleast I could run with a CTS right. (not the V though :shifty: )

V6 Turbo

For an update as to status read my last post in High Performance. As to HP increase I am not going to guess I will wait for the Dyno results next month. The cost of the kit will be around 4500 and that will include everything including injectors and new PCM program. As Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different configurations the kit will not include the electric fan needed for Gen 1. The compressor will be geared to produce 6lbs of boost at 6k. Much more than 6 you would need to address other issues to maintain engine stability and longevity; at least mine and Geoff's opinion. Wisper hits the road the end of April and I will be able to get some Track times which I will post.

Why go to all that expense when you can add turbo whistles to the exhaust, a box under the hood that makes a pop off sound and decals....lots of decals. :headbang:

that 1.3 should be a 1.8. i didnt even know that was on my profile. that was almost 6 years ago now. i havent run it at the track on the bottle in years or at all for that matter.
