Just did that job and lowers and inner outter tierods....

Took me and a new Friend (thanks Kstills) for the helping hand! about 5 to six hours after we started. had all the parts out and took a few min breaks, then went to work on reassembly. its not bad..

Sockets required are 18MM short socket and short/regular 3/8 drive, a long ratchet 18mm wrench really helps, a ball joint splitter and 5 lbs mallet! something we did not see posted was to remove the air strut to get the upper control arms out. this will require a 10mm socket on the top under the cover on the firewall. dont forget to disconnect the air supply line and electrical connector as well as disconnect the height sensor prior to removal of the air strut. the two bolts for the upper control arm will then just come out..

Lower control arm requires
21mm deep socket for the bolt to the cross member, the ball joint and air strut ,ball joint spreader, 24 mm to remove strut rod nut,
remove the brake caliper (Two 12mm wrench, then the 15mm socket or wrench for the bracket to hold caliper comes off, then the rotor. remove the cottor pin and then remove castle nut, remove the cottor pin from the tie rod end because its easy to swing the hub around out of the way. remove the 24mm nut holding the strut rod bushing and then the 21mm to remove the last bolts to the cross member this will allow the removal of the lower control arm.

Keep track of parts but job seems straight foreward enough. mine came apart easy enough just tough to get the 18mm nuts off of the upper control arms as there is very little wiggle room next to AC condensor, and the master cyclinder, I found using the open end of the 18mm wrench best (little turns) on passenger side and the 18mm small socket on short ratchet on drivers side next to the master cylinder never had to remove it like some say you might want to.

Hope this helps you and any future individuals when they need to remove and replace... just need a good afternoon and a nice person to offer their hands for the holding of parts as you reassemble ( I know you did more Kevin Thanks)

If I can help further or if anything here is incorrect let me know
Thanks
Bill

Wow thanks alot. I will need to get my hands on a ball joint splitter. The tie rods have all ready been done so Ill save some time on that. Hopefully I can pull this off with the help of dear old dad. If not, anyone know a reputable mechanic that wont bend me over to get this job done. I am in South Fl, Delray Beach to be precise.

i could do it for you but i'm too lazy to look up delray beach and see how far it is from me! i'm just north of clearwater beach.

you dont need a balljoint splitter (picklefork) ive NEVER used one, just beat the top of the knuckle a few times than hammer upward on the arm and the balljoint will come out

The easiest one I did was the one that fell out of my 93, while on the road,

Lucky is was only about 4 block from my house. Did it in about an hour. Most of the time was just picking up tools. LOL..
