I had my transmission replaced on my 2001 lincoln ls v8 the dealer said they updated my pcm to a newer version so it would respond faster and have better performance, theoretically if this was done would it have somehow made the computer system think it was a different year of ls and make it no longer recognize it has a hydraulic fan? Instead the computer may think it has an electric fan like the models after 2001? Could this happen? And if so would that disable the car from kicking the fans into high speed because the computer no longer believes those parts of the hydraulic system exist? Just a thought I have a new actuator on order and that came to mind today when the one year anniversary of my 2600 dollar transmission was due for its first year check up.
