Unsteady Steering Wheel When Braking

he' talking about the steering wheel turning back and forth slightly.

Yes, that's what it does. That's probably a better way to explain it. I'm just going to get the brakes and rotors done in the near future and see if this fixes my problem.

The piston can hang up on these front brakes or air can get into brake lines also. After inspecting tie-rod ends, sway bar links, ball joints with engine off pump brakes until hard. Remove brake cylinder cap, break loose brake line @ calipher get fluid brake line probably good. Remove brake calipher bolts, remove calipher, check pads apply anti-seize to outside brake pad calipher metal surface were back of pad should rest when no brakes applied. Metal should just look wet when applying anti-seize. Vibration/shaking while braking @ a light or in traffic can be pad hanging up. Agree about checking motor mounts also. Good luck!

Man, are you ever in deep on that LS, looks like it's all over the board with multiple issues.

All the issues all pertained to average things that go wrong with the LS. Ended up being wheel bearing & front control arm. Got them both replaced yesterday.

But yes, I am in deep into my LS lol. These cars aren't cheap to maintain

They are if they're taken care of...just sayin

Rell, trust me when I say, as long as this car has been mine, it's been taken care of. I registered it into MY name at the beginning of this year. Since then, I'v put (if not more than) $3,000 into. Including $1,400 I'v put into it just since the beginning of September.

When a car is 12 years old, it's going to need repairs, it's going to need things replaced. That's how cars work. This was also my first car. So it has high miles, which means, things will go wrong that have to be repaired.

When I get my next car, I'll keep it until 100-125k miles, and replace it. But until then, I am taking care of what I have

I think that the point is if the car is well taken care of for its whole life, you normally won't have several things to fix at any one time, like yours seems to now.
Once you get it back into good shape, you'll still have things to fix every so often, but it shouldn't be several at once.

Oh okay, thanks! I'm definitely trying to get her back where she needs to be. I'll most likely keep it even when I buy a new car, because I'll never get out what I put into it and if it's a good running car, there's no reason to get rid of it. Might as well just keep it for fun.

The car idles beautifully at around 800 RPM, A/C Blows nice and cold in this Florida heat, the ride is pretty quiet (especially for a 12 year old car), and although it doesn't shift like a Mercedes or a BMW, it shifts nicely for a 12 year old car with 178k miles on it. I give a lot of credit to my LS and always will even after I retire it. It's just little random things that break on them that cost a fortune to fix, lol. But hey, that's any car.
