Unable to run self diagnostic test

I was able to get the test with coded results a while. Ack but now and after much work has been done I am unable to get the test to run. Please help.

What year?
Which engine?
Which self diagnostic? KOER, KOEO, climate control, ...
What scan tool are you using?
What problem are you trying to solve?

05LincolnLS v6 trying to run the self diagnostic ac test by pressing off and defrost together with car off and ignition on then within 2sec pressing the auto button. I have been able to get the test to run in the past but now it simply won't and haven't the slightest idea why. I've followed the procedure to the t before and now but it's just not running. Any idea why?

It's all factory equipment in the vehicle

And I wasn't aware of any other self diagnostic tests I could run. Are there any without needing any tools or scanners?
