Ugh! Arizona Summers where the current temp 800 degrees

Alright everyone I have a question in regards to cooling the 4.6. I know from my days with my Mopars and Chevys when summer hit a sure fire way to keep those V8 power plants cool was to go with a high flow water pump and a 180 degrees thermostat. Would this be the same course of action for the 4.6? And if it is what do you all recommend?
 
My cooling system is all stock. Never had a problem, even in traffic.
 
The Mark has a phenomenal cooling system. No need to really mess with it. I have a cooler t-stat and programed my fan to come on a little earlier, but it was not really needed. Even with fan failure the mark can self cool at speeds above 30 pretty well.

Mine just gets a little over the half way mark and it sorta worries me. That why Im asking. So you live in the Valley also?
 
Half way is warm, but ok. I think when stock that is when the fan kicks into high speed. Getting in the "O" then you begin to worry!
 
I am also in AZ and my 94 never gets above 1/2 way on the temp gauge. Compared to my 93 Tbird SC, the Mark stays very cool. I replaced the fan motor and water pump when they failed, the radiator is the original unit. Let's be honest with everyone about AZ summer temps, it does not get even close to 800 degrees... the highest temp is no more that 200 degrees! On the pavement that is! But it is a DRY HEAT!!!

But all you need is good coolant and make sure it's burped properly.
And sometimes that means after you think it's burped, burp it again.... and then again a few days later.

Unless you have one of the vacuum attachments they have at the dealership... that's pretty convenient.
 
Dry heat, humid heat, hot is still hot. I have lived in both. At least when its humid, you can get a cool breaze. When the wind blows out here its like a hair drier in your face. It was 70 yesterday morning and I was freezing. Had to put on a sweatshirt. Crazy stuff right there.
 
mine has always ran a tad over 1/2way up the gauge with the a/c on and in traffic. need to do a new thermostat and flush the coolant.
 
Bring on the global warming, I thought this summer has been great. Bear in mind that our gages aren't absolutely perfect and have error in them. If you are sure about having your system full , and operating properly then use the gage as your monitor (watch the temp raise and fall). Remember NORMAL is NORMAL operating range. Both my cars operate in different ranges, but are within NORMAL.
