So I got my system in... and it sounds pretty awesome... cept for one thing... I used the stock tweeters... figured it would save a little time and they did sound alright... but sounds like like one of the front ones are blown... it's crackles like a fire... is there a simple way of taking it out without having to pull the whole door panel off again?... I know it's not that hard... but if I could just swap it out without having to that would be sweet!!

The tweeter grill is held on by metal tabs that are slid into the door panel and bent over, you might be able to get it off without removing the door panel, but you won't be able to put it back on. Just pull the door panel and be done with it.

on gen 2 they pop out really easy. you just have to bend them back to where they should be, slide in the bottom first, then use a screwdriver or something to help the top tabs in.

pull the panel, the grills are cheap tin and deform really easy, not to mention to remove the "tweeter boxes" the panel will have to be off as the screws go into the back of the panel

Yeah I figured as much... just was hopin I didn't have to take them off... I'm thinking of putting the two ways up there anyways... the polks I got scream... and I can probably mount the crossover in a better place in the rear... thanks for the help guys!... the system sounds pretty damn good... specially since I only paid 650 for the whole system... got the amps off craigslist... a ppi and an alpine for 150 got a 12" jl off a lady tryin to get rid of her sons stuff he left there for 30 bucks with a box!!... the rest of the stuff is new... Alpine deck from crutchfield... Infinity Kappa components... and polk audios... then wires... not too shabby :)
