When I try to turn off Advancetrac & traction control like they say in the manual (hold for 5 seconds) it disables the button... i.e. further presses of the button seem to do nothing. Is that supposed to happen? It doesn't give any notice that Advancetrac is actually off either. I mean, pressing the button normally toggles Advancetrac, but this 5 second push is confusing me.
I guess I should go try to spin the wheels to find out if it's really off. :)

i remember reading somewhere that pushing it once turned everything off, and pressing and holding it for 5 seconds put it into valet mode, but i could be confusing it with another car...

Valet mode? That sort of makes sense, that it would disable the button.

Well in the manual it says push once to turn stability control off, and hold for 5 seconds to turn stability and traction control off.

I have the same problem, no indication that TCS gets turned off. "Pressing the control once will disable the AdvanceTrac stability
enhancement and the engine power reduction portion of the traction
enhancement feature; the brake portion of the traction enhancement
feature will still function normally. Pressing and holding the control for
more than five seconds will disable the AdvanceTrac stability
enhancement and traction enhancement feature. If the vehicle is stuck
in snow or mud or when driving in deep sand, switching off the
AdvanceTrac system may be beneficial so the wheels are allowed to
spin." (p.196) Owners Manual
