Where did you mount the ballasts?

I tried to mount them where you did but that wasnt happening, how did you secure them anyway? Even drilling the smallest hold ever and using the smallest screw ever it started to crack as its a 1/4 thick at best fiberglass. I'm going to mount them on the \_/ section of the support right behind the grille but i came up about 3 inches or so to short for the headlight bulbs. So for the mean time i have them installed where the guy on cardomain put his, but the beauty cover doesnt fit.

I already talked to him and he is working on it. He wants to make the entire kit plug and play and by extending the wires for the headlights (which you cant splice without the right stuff as they are high voltage 23,000 volts silicone/teflon coated this kit will be perfect, you can mount the ballasts wherever you want and by changing one plug the entire thing is plug and play.

I had talked to Mafioso about extending the wires... they needed to be long regardless...

I bolted them right to the braces running from the header panel to the core support... didn't even have to drill a hole.

Did your headlight wires reach in that location?

No... I'm waiting on the bulbs with the longer wires... but you need the lights to work huh... I thought that you just couldn't figure out how I mounted them, I understand now...

Yeh i put mine up on the two brackets going to the rad support for the mean time. :)

As soon as the new bulbs get here it will be done...

The only other thing I will do is solder the connections from the factory plug to the ballast plug, crimp connectors are ok, but I prefer solder and heat shrink.

I hate butt connectors for anything outside. i soldered the plugs off the old ballast hit it with heat shrink, then split loom, & wrapped it in electrical tape. :D

I didn't want to solder until I decided exact location so I could cut them to length...

I need a new plug though... I crack one

what kit should I order from the cheapo guys?

6000 color

9005?
9006?

I only need the low beams.

Thanks, any helpful hints??

JOHN

For the lows on your car... color is whatever you like 4300k is stock 6000k is a little bluer...

Order whatever base you want... hold them in any way you can, zip ties, plastice ring, metal rings, glue... it really doesn't matter.

It really doesn't matter...

You aren't going to be able to buy a cheapie set up that is going to be bolt in, whatever base you buy you have to make something to hold it in... buy 9005
