Picked this car up for $800 a few months ago and have started the winter project on it. Its going to be a small turbo, street car that should be some fun.

The day it came home.

Had to take the loaner wheels off it so, they could go back to a Capri.

Since a certain CTS-V is getting a blower, I had to get premature baby of a turbo.

For the charge piping to fit, I had to cut out a useless piece of the fender apron.

It needs a different coupler for the throttle body but, that'll come in due time.

Got the intercooler installed even though, its far to small for the job.

I've been going back and forth on getting a two new Mark 7 engine harnesses or putting in a Mustang harness since, the connectors for the o2, ignition module and such were burnt to a crisp for some reason. The car doesn't have air ride or emissions and more so those bug chunks of wire are useless any how.

Started taking the interior out to get rid of the dead weight and realized, the seats weight a metric ton. The quest for Kirkeys and a way to mount them has started.

*No trash was removed from its natural habitat in the making of these pictures.

I need to figure out what color to have these coated in. Its between satin black and cast iron. I'm leaning towards cast iron since, that will look original.

Ripped the old carpet out and found, rust free floors. Sadly, I wanted to keep the carpet but, it ripped in some very visble areas when I pulled it out.

Decided to get the interior started since I need to get an engine hoist to pull the motor out, to install the suspension stuff.

Got part of the sound deadening out with nothing more than a putty knife and my hands. Also, that is the insulation from the 1/4 glass area, so much insulation.

When I got the car, only one speaker worked. This may be why, both rears are like this and the cones do not move at all.

This had to be in the car since, it was built.

Saying good bye to the electric brake system.

The worst part about this car is, figuring out what wires have to stay and which can go. The majority of this harness is for the air ride and brake system which, is all controlled from the trunk.

I think, it's safe to say the car may never run again... After taking the sheers to the harness to speed up the harness destruction.

Got a little work done tonight, pulled out the air ride/brake harness and, sorted out the last few wires that were in the harness that ran up to the battery isolator and some relays and, removed the blower box.

It cleans up well but, there is still a lot of dirt built up where the wire harnesses use to be placed.

From what I remember of the "old days" of the Mark VII forums, the seats are 70-80lbs each and the car has ~200lbs of sound deadener in it. The door glass is heavy, too. Thunderbird seats with the manual recline are a lot lighter and bolt right in.

It looks like you are making some great progress, thanks for posting it all up.

Those seats weigh to much, I am looking at Kirkeys.

Cool! I used to have a '90 LSC SE that I had always wanted to do something with but never did before I sold it. What turbo kit is that??

Ordered the wheels and tires for it, along with some other small bits.

The new wheels at tires will be, 15x10 Prostars with a 275/60/15 in the rear and 17x4.5 Dragstars up front.

That is one huge snail you have there. Will you be running with oem internals?

Just curious what is the max boost you can use safely with a stock 302 internals?

That is a loaded question with the information provided. It depends on blower/turbo, heads, intake, etc. There are a lot of things that go into that magical reading an really, that reading that readying is just a measure of restriction. A small turbo, say a 16g from an Eclipse you could run run 90psi because it is such a small unit.

I'll start at 10 with this cheap 70mm and if it likes it, I'll go up from there.

The fronts are on back order. :(

It's getting to the point I need to yank the motor and get stuff installed.

There are updates, they are condensed here since I'm taking them from another site.

The engine harness is almost done. I need to find a good route where it wont be affected by the turbo/exhaust and then, loom it up.

So, I have bought multiple manuals and reference materials to go through and finish the wiring to make sure its right... Not a single effing thing I have bought has diagrams or schematics for the car! I am going on night 2 of trying to get the headlights to work again after the brake and air ride harness removal. If anyone has a diagram/schematics of the headlight harness it would be much appreciated if that found its way over to me.

Also, since I am upset at the car I figured I'd get it a few things in hopes it would like me again.

Sorted out the headlights, got the harness tied up and ready for some loom. I still need to figure out the route for the other harness to get it away from the turbo.

Picked up a free motor, needless to say I found out why it was pulled out of the truck it was in. One rod is loose and has vertical play at the big end. So, its off to be cleaned and freshened up.
