Tune auto lamps?

Any way to change the amount of light needed to turn on the lamps? Honestly, I'm going for the lamps just running when my car is on. I like how the HIDs and fogs look. I was hoping I could just mess with the photo sensor and make it turn on all the time instead of having to manually turn on the lights. Thoughts?

Well, just to make sure, the little bump in the center of the dash up towards the glass is the sensor right?

Yes, but it's also the sunlight heat load sensor for A/C control.

Just use the switch as is and remember to turn the lights off?

Ah ok. Hmm, well I'll probably cover it and see how the AC acts. And of course I could do that, but if I can easily make it automatic thats definitely going to be the way I go.

I never used it but if they stay on after the car is off, or prior to start up, I've read that running them without the car running is not good for your ballasts. Don't know if that applies to the OEM ones because of their stellar quality.

It's not a problem at all. It's exactly how they work now, when it is dark. (I have 94K miles on my 06 now, and I have had no HID issues. I park in a garage, so the HIDs come on every time I start, and just about every time I park.)
