Does anyone have any experiance with this TSB or issue? My warning chime is on anytime the drivers door is open even with the keys removed. Below is the TSB description.

Vehicle: 2003 Lincoln LS
Summary:
KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME SOUND WHENEVER THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN (EVEN WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION), THE EASY EXIT FEATURE INOPERATIVE WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, OR THE STEERING COLUMN (AND SEAT IF APPLICABLE) MOVING B ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10009342 )

Did you ever find out what it was? Mine is doing the same thing, I can't find anything on this.

No not really. We've just been living with it. I have found that it works right about once every 500 times we pull the key out of the ignition. I've also found that if I pull the key almost all the way out and wiggle the key up and down with some force, I can get the switch within the switch to function properly. I looked at pulling the switch, but it looks like a total PITA with limited space and many hard to get fasteners. I tried spraying some PB Blaster into the switch (it works absolutely the best on sticky door locks). Nothing changed:( Sorry I can't be more help. Please update this thread if you figure something out as will I. I plan on playing with it more after the weather gets better.

sounds to me like the key sence switch inside the key cylinder is busted, i see a lot of fords come thru my shop with the same problem, sounds like its time for a new key cylinder

I got excited when I saw this subject, but my problem is different... it chimes when I have the key in, as if one of the doors is open (but everything is shut). But when I start the car it doesn't complain anymore.

Do the interior lights stay on also? Lots of Ford products have issues with the door (dome light) switches. On the newer Ford products, the switch is in the latch mechanism. Sometimes you can lift the outside handle and and spray down the latch/switch through the rearmost opening under the handle to free them up. I prefer PB Blaster but any penetrating oil should work.

I've had the same deal on my '93 Vic. The Ford dealer swapped out the key cylinder because it was getting sloppy. No change. Still ding ding ding. For about 5 years now. I think dynamite might cure it.

Anyway I'm about to junk the car and buy an '05 LS if I can find a nice one.

No, after I start the car the light goes off and it doesn't complain about the door being ajar or anything. It only happens to me sometimes. When it does it I never just sat in the car to see if the dome lights go off without starting the car. (i guess this is offtopic now :shifty: )
