I recently removed and reinstalled the back seat cushion. I then removed the trunk lining and plastic molding across rear. I now have open door/ trunk indication. Is there a way to check the switches? Everything else works fine, no chime going off just the indicator light. Are the door switches proximity switches? Owlmans online manual is no help its from the Fem/Rem foward.
Thank You for any help in this matter.

If you removed the plastic molding that goes across the trunk opening hen you will get this light, if you look at the door the switch is on the bottom of the door I Thi k on the right hand side and when you close the trunk it makes contact with the plastic molding, if you removed that when you close the trunk the switch won't activate hence giving you a trunk open light

Thank You. When I go to reinstall the trunk liner I'll eyeball the lock better.

Its not in the actual lock assy for the trunk. If you open the trunk lid and look you can see the pin switch. It is kinda all by itself and covered in black rubber. That thing pushes on the plastic piece.

Thank You. When I go to reinstall the trunk liner I'll eyeball the lock better.

The trunk ajar switch is a plunger switch, which is not very near the trunk lock, or the trunk latch. (Note that the lock and the latch are not very close together either.

The door ajar switch is internal to the door lock/latch assembly for the four car doors.

I bent the trunk switch on the trunk lid once and couldnt figure it out for awhile. The plastic moulding along the inside of the trunk wasnt all the way on another time.

When I go to reinstall the trunk liner
if your liner is out of the car, its a pretty safe bet that rear most plastic trim is still out of the car, as mentioned above, this is the contact point for the trunks pin switch, with out it in the car, there is nothing for the plunger to hit to tell the car that the trunk is closed. completely reassemble the car, then function check everything.

Thank you for your help. So the switch is one of the "rubber bumpers" mounted to the trunk lid. I would have never guessed it.

Its not a rubber bumper, its a plunger with a rubber seal on it. Its on the trunk lid between the latch and left side of the lid. There is only one

honestly, you cant miss it, if what your looking at is on both sides of the trunk lid, your looking at the wrong thing.
