I was recently in a Junkyard and trying to get a new tail light when i ran into this problem.
They removed the battery and locked the trunk.
Both seats are up and locked.

Are there any tricks to get into the trunk? I dont know how to pick locks. haha.

Not that I've found, except using a prybar and destroying the trunk. Or cutting through the seat, but the back panel is pretty stout.

its pretty easy to use a screwdriver to unlatch the rear seats, then you have to crawl in the truck for the emergency release.

Had to do it once or twice!

pull the backrest cushion back a bit and go in from the top at an angle, you should be able to get a flathead on the latch itself and (IIRC) pull up. look at your latch before going and it should give you a pretty good idea..

...Dont ask :shifty:

Something about using a small AA battery or such to trigger the switch under the dash. I think it has been discussed on here before. Search for something along those lines.

you can always bring a jump box or battery and see if you can put power to the junction box... in the passenger front wheel well (assuming it HAS a trunk release button)

It'll take more than an AA battery. At the minimum, you have to power up the FEM and the REM. In practice, this means you have to power up the whole car or cut the wiring harnesses in several places. The FEM reads the trunk switch in the dash and sends a command to the REM. The REM powers the solenoid that unlocks the trunk.
