Was wondering for those who drag race, what are your RPMs at when you cross the finish line and what gears are you running? This would be in 3rd gear I assume.

With 4.30s I think I'm out the big end at around 5400-5500 rpms?

I was going about 5000-5200 with the 4.10s. Does that sound about right?

with the 3.27's I think I was at about 6000-6100 in 2nd
Sounds right to me. That's about where I was.

mine's redlined in 2nd.
yea, with stock 307 gears my first gen would make a WOT 2-3 shift at between 100-105MPH.
In the 1/4 mile it'd cross teh stripe IN second gear near redline.
when I went to 373's the car would shift into 3rd about 50 feet before the finish line.
need 410's or 430's to "get the car into the power in 3rd at the stripe"

with the stock 3.27s i was just shifting to 3rd about 50' before the line. with the 3.55s im in 3rd for a couple hundred feet. ill have to recheck the rpm next time i go.
i went to the 3.55s to get into 2nd earlier. with the 3.27s it would hit 2nd right after the VHT stopped and i got off the concrete. i was looking at the wall on more than 1 occasion due to the tire spin. fun but not good for times
