Transmission question

I have a 01 LS8 sport I picked up for parts and was wondering about the trans. What cars will this work in? With this fit any Ls with the v8? or only the sports with the sst shifter?

It's a Ford 5r55N. You can search on that to see applicability. Not many cars used them - 00 to 02 LS, Thunderbirds around the same time, maybe a few Jaguars. The PCM control is incompatible with the 5r55S, which is much more common, although some of the internals can swap.

Sport or non-sport, there is no difference in the transmission. The difference is in the shifter assembly inside the car and the programming of the PCM.
