I drove my ls around today for about 2 hours... I never had any problems out of the transmission until today... it hasn't slipped or stays in gear to long but today when i parked it in my yard, I came back out to go to work not even 10 minutes later and it will not go in to reverse, drive or auto stick... while it is in park it will not move, if i put it in netural and get out to push it will roll but when i want to go foward or backward it will not catch gear... i know it isn't mechanical so i need help on where i can start to go about tring to find something out before i make the dreadfull trip to the dealership.

This is the same thing that happened to me just the other week. Does it rev up past 3,000 rpm's?
No stock LS revs past 3000 in park or neutral.
Thats why its a problem and more likely a symptom to help narrow things down if it does that when you select reverse, D4, D5, and SST. I was just wondering if it would rev all the way up and not catch gear or if it would hit the rev limiter like as if it was stuck in neutral.

My LS will rev to 7K rpm in N

no i don't have the e indication and yes it indecates the correct gear but it will not rev over 3000 in any gear indication. as if the car is in park or netural in any gear. the really weird thing is that if i put it in sst mode and press the pedal to the floor it will indicate it to gear down to first and back to second gear but no motion. it will not shift up 2 third gear either. i'm thinking it may be the electronic shift solinoid. Heck i know it's electronic.......
