I haven't been able to do much because of my schedule lately. I have school all morning (mon-fri) and then work in afternoon.
and since Im not rich, I have been trying to find more answers online for this problem.
On a site, I came across, states "Transmission does not shift automatically but works properly when shifted manually.
The problem is almost certainly electrical and not internal since the transmission works properly when shifted manually. The problem could be one of the shift solenoids on the valve body, a speed sensor or a wiring problem."
While I was under the car, I noticed I also have some kind of oil leak from who knows where, and some sensors looked soaked in oil. Would oil affect the functionality of these sensors? like the DTR sensor or even the Output Shaft Speed sensor? Maybe clean them?
Other website stated that
"Trouble Code: P1700
Possible Causes: This code can set due to low transmission fluid level"
With that said, I have been thinking of changing the fluid (for starters), maybe the "old/dirty/low" fluid is making everything else trip out.
I have an appointment tomorrow with a local trans shop for the fluid change and they told me to come in so they can check the fluid, but if the fluid is dark/brown or smells burnt, that they wont even bother in changing it.
