totaled 01 ls v8 sport package.

Hey guys. I know this is the mark8 board, but you guys night be able to help. my girlfriend just messed her car up. the insurance company is going to total it and im seeing if its worth parting out or selling the whole car for a fixer or parts. She took a corner too fast and jumped a curb. the passenger rims are gone along with those two tires they are the 10 spoke chrome 17's. someone said they are $900 each new? It cracked the front lower bumper and already had a crack in the rear bumper. the car is in otherwise great condition, but i could get an itemized description of the damage.(im sure there is more than that, but that is the major stuff) I can buy it back for $700 and i would think i could get at least twice that parted or for a parts car. the car has 110,000 miles, no other dents, minor wear on front seats, but a really nice car. i dunno. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

my first thought is:

you can definitely make money parting it....

2nd thought is:

do you have the time/patience/space/ability to part it?

those are my only 2 thoughts .;)

Yeah KK.... i did post it there. but i thought since mark8's are far superior cars, i might get far superior help from you guys.

Thanks KK. big help.:D

^ I totally agree, & plan to have it around for at least 6 months & do alot of shipping. Use Craigslist for the motor & big items as shipping these become expensive.

You may be unpleasantly surprised if you buy it back. Having owned one and knowing how intricate all those suspension components are - you may be buying ALOT of new parts to repair it. Not to mention your unit body may be tweaked due to the impact etc.

Presuming your buy-back is $700, they're going to give you $7000 for the car? Take it and run!
