my brothers been looking for an older lincoln or bigger car for a project to build, last night i told him to come out around the block to see if he liked my 96 mark i just got, well after taking him every way but staright drifting it around corners he was blown away by the power it had, i reminded him its bone stock,

today he calls me saying iam going to buy a mark :p he's looking a a 94 B/B, guy said air bags have been swapped over to town car suspension, is this a common thing to do when ditching air bags? car is rust free high kms 206km but pretty nice 1800 cdn

any probs with 94's i should watch out for?

It's not a tc susp. He prob just meant coils. Only a coil setup from a tbird will work in our cars. Nothing else in the lincoln lineup of that era will fit.

no, no major problems specific to 94s that i know of.
just check the transmission to see that it shifts well and the fluid isn't burnt.
and that the engine doesn't thunk too much on cold start up from worn timing tensioners.

brother just looked at it and said theres a ticking sound from motor, guy said these are common for marks?

and said for 80 each a coil it can be swithced to coil over? if its not air bag or coil over whats in it? he said its from a town car

i would not consider the ticking to be common unless the engine has a problem.

i need to hear myself, my 96 tics slighlty but its injectors you hear, at first i faintly heard it and was  but opened hood to find out its injector noise

Town Cars are air ride, i know my 91 Town Car has air ride and was still going strong when i got rid of it.

If it ticks rapidly for a couple seconds at start up, and then goes away, thats the tensioners, which wont harm anything really but is annoying...

great on way home from gf's this morning i hear clicking now coming out of passenger side from wheel well, clicks more when you turn wheel a certain way, going to take wheel off when i get home from work and hope its just a dust shield or something easy, but being a lincoln a better get my wallet out lol

ill have to check out that lincoln of your icarus, dying to see some modded marks in person, starting to find i really like the 96's when originally found this site i thought i liked newer style 97/98's better, dont get me wrong 97+ are a little sleeker looking and interiors are mint

My cars mostly back to stock again now, still need a dang fender as well as I got backed into a lil bit ago, so not much to see anymore (I have the Cobra brakes, tlok, some electronics/sequential chase light, rims, etc still though)... :(

i want to do the sequential chase light also but the link posted doesnt work and i cant find any detailed instructions on how to do it

4 of my cousins and 3 of my uncles have had these cars. Once you ride in one, i mean really ride in one, you're hooked!!! We have probably had 50-60 of them in the family. lol

The guy that built the module for me dropped the four light option. Gary still has a three light 'stang setup though, or you'd have to go with Webelectric if you want four lights off their challenger setup, but then it'd be just the sequential, not the chase seq lights...

Maybe we could have a convoy of Marks from Canada this year at the Beach Party ...

Oh and the only thing you'll have to be aware of on the 94 Mark VIII is it's faster than what you are use to ... LOL

Hey I would love it if we can all do the convoy down. If we start planning now maybe it can happen!!!
