It was brought up in another thread, but was never resolved. The sound of the steering wheel moving for the easy entry/exit. That sound is horrible. Does anyone know of a quick fix? Thanks.

My '02 used to 'chatter' but didn't squeal. Then it started to occassionally squeal as well. I 'fixed' it by following this procedure, which I basically just pulled out of my arse, but hey it worked. I don't know why. Maybe it re-distributed some grease or something. Anyway, here it is:
- insert key
- set the wheel to a fully extended (toward seat) and fully lowered position.
- remove key and confirm that the wheel retracts fully.
- while applying constant slight pressure (few lbs.) in one direction (left, right, up, down, in, or out) insert key. Remove key (still applying pressure the entire time that the wheel moves).
- repeat with all other directions, probably several times.

Like I said, it worked for my '02, but I can make no promises. And as always, do this at your own risk (burnt out motor = your problem). I sold the '02 a few months after performing this magic so I do not know how long it lasted.

I drive with the seat fully back so the seat never moved for me. The only issue arose when I moved forward a little to accomodate a back seat passenger. When I removed the key, they would be squished. Why did Lincoln make a car with so little rear seat legroom?

And a lot of reviews say "Roomy backseat". Uh, not compared to a lot of other midsize cars. But if you fit it certainly is very comfortable :D

The LS has very little rear seat legroom if you are sitting behind someone. However, I am 6'4 and love to sit in the back seat. I just move the passenger seat in front of me all the way forward a let someobe chofier me around if I need a DD. The LS's rear seat is one of the most comfortable I've every been in.
