According to SAE (http://www.sae.org/ohmag/prodguide/components/08-2001/page5.htm)

HIR-coated bulbs

Harison Toshiba Lighting, Inc. has developed halogen infrared reflective (HIR)-coated bulbs for forward lighting of trucks and heavy equipment. The HIR-2 low beam is a 55-W bulb that produces 1875 lumens, representing an output increase of 87%. The HIR-1 high beam is a 65-W bulb that produces 2500 lumens, a 47% increase in output. The large gains in luminous intensity are the result of the company's process of applying more than 25 IR coatings to the exterior of each bulb. Production of these bulbs has begun in Japan.

No, I'm not getting them... My buddy just bought an '06 Trailblazer SS (13.5 in the 1/4 btw) and he found them on a Trailblazer forum. He was looking for my thoughts on the bulbs so I decided to ask around. He has Silverstars in his Sierra Denali so I recommended he try the Hoen bulbs if he didn't go with these for his TBSS.

MMMMMMMMMMM looks promising you should tell your buddy to buy a set and then he can give us a full review. HAHA Nice find though!

damn will they fit in there they look "tall" or Long ....how ever you look at it....>I like them they do look hot..... I would buy a set for the fogs and highs....

Yeah, he's probably going to do it. The only bummer is that on the '06 TB SS, you have to remove the front grille and the headlights to change the bulbs, so picking the wrong ones would be a real PITA. I'll let you know if he does buy them and how he likes 'em.

Damn, I guess they need to pass the ointment around for the burns!

so i jsut emailed the guy. i was wondering if they were blue (i want a blue) and he said theyre absolutly no blue to the lights. completely white. so i guess im still in the hunt, i might end up with some hoens from ken.

The Hoen's have a warranty. 6 months on the Plus bulbs and 12 months on the regular Xenonmatch. Shoot me an email and we can swap them out.
