I finally found a set of factory chrome wheels for my LS and now I need tires. Before installing the Blizzaks for winter my LS had a set of Michelins on it. The ride was great with them. What are you guys replacing the factory Michelins with? Is there something better in the factory size I should look at that will keep the same luxury ride?

well - the tires question only leads to more questions...

- what type of weather
- what type pf performance
- what type of wear
- what type of price

I bought a new '06 last fall, to replace my '02. I wasn't too impressed with the factory tires on the '02 (Michellin MXM4) so the first thing I did when I got the new '06 home was rip those suckers off and replace them with Michellin Pilot Sport A/S. This is a performance tire which has excellent wet traction and which doesn't harden up and become useless in the cold (both of which are not common qualities on performance tires). I think they are great. They handle so much better than the MXM4, there is no comparison. The wet traction is so good it is worth mentioning again :-) And the ride quality and noise are as good as or better than the MXM4. They are not cheap, but I recommend them if you don't mind spending the money to get a superior quality tire. Mine are stock size (235/50R17) and are on the factory chrome wheels.

Lou is right, to determine which tires are best for you, you must evaluate what type of driving you do, what conditions, etc.

That said, I replaced the Continentals on my 2003 LS with Bridgestone Turanza LS tires of the same size. They were fantastic, and I intend to get another set for my 06 when the time comes.
